This style of furniture was first popularized towards the end of the 19th century, as it was based off the furniture of Spanish missionaries who were operating in colonial California. This style is connected to the well-known arts and crafts movement of the early 20th century, which focused on traditional craftsmanship. A common wood choice for mission style furniture was oak, due to that lumber’s longevity. We have been happily providing this style of mission furniture in Oak Park for nearly two decades.
