About Wood Top Kitchen Islands
“Care for your Kitchen Island the same way you do your dining table”
Our kitchen islands provide extra storage and counter space for your home. Most of our selection feature a beautiful rustic wood table top. They have been finished with a protective coating to protect it from spills. Wood is a natural material and when treated with care, will be a beautiful feature in your home for many years. Solid wood furniture like our kitchen islands will need a new coat of clear protective finish in about 10 years (depending on how often you clean it and other environmental factors) and the condition will be maintained. Follow these simple care tips to prolong the life of your wooden top kitchen island:
- For regular cleaning, use a non-harsh cleaning solution to prolong the protective coating.
- Do not place hot items directly on the surface, use trivets or hot pads. Placing hot items directly on the surface may cause the finish to look cloudy.
- Do not cut directly on top of the surface, use a cutting board.
